Salon 1050 e Grand Opening Party!

Come out tonight and tomorrow night for the Grand Opening of Salon 1050 e (formerly Vanessa's)!  They have officially opened and are inviting everyone to join them for a night of fun, shopping, friends and food.  Local vendors will be on hand so come prepared to shop!  Bring your friends, family, neighbors and co-workers to Salon 1050 e tonight and tomorrow night from 5p.m. to 10p.m.  Salon 1050 e is located in the Target shopping center just to the right of Staples.  See you there!

Congratulations to our very dear friend and business partner Tracy Turpen of Tracy Turpen Photography in Charleston, SC on her recent induction into the association Best of Wedding Photography!  Best of Wedding Photography is the premier invitation-only association for the world's top wedding photographers.  She was one of 350 photographers selected from a list of over 5000 wedding photographers around the world.   We are so honored to say that we have worked and continue to work with Tracy and are just thrilled that she has been recognized for her amazing work.  Congratulations, Tracy!

Fun Fact Friday!

In keeping with this weeks shoe theme, today's fun wedding fact comes from Wikipedia.

You know the old saying, Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue and A Sixpence for your Shoe right?  Well, wearing a sixpence in your shoe is believed to bring wealth and happiness to a marriage!  Typically, the sixpence is placed in the brides left shoe.

Wedding Wednesday

Our Wedding Wednesday tip of the day is a bit of an extension of Tuesday shoe day.  Here are just a few thoughts/tips for having a ceremony on the beach:


1.  Don't wear heels!  Think about flip flops or other flat shoes that will give you more stability walking and standing in the sand.  Save your "party shoes" for the reception!

2.  Many couples like to add mats or baskets so their guests can place their shoes in/on them before entering the ceremony.  Keep in mind though that many women don't like to have their shoes touch other people's shoes. So, while it's nice to give your guests the option, don't be offended if they keep their shoes on.

3.  Tell your Granny to not wear any nylons (a.k.a. panty hose) the day of the wedding.  We can't think of any other way to say this but wearing panty hose is like having an adult diaper rash!
